As a child, timeless melodies and lyrics of Tin-Pan-Alley composers
flooded into the hearts and minds of people in the early 60's as a result
of old Hollywood musicals aired on late night TV. An abundance of musical
influences were right there for the taking: popular music of the day,
classical and semi-classical from school, country and folk hits from the
radio plus the "oldies but goodies" played on her parents'
hi-fi.
Every single note consumed Annette Lowman's spirit - eventually leading
her into the innovative world of jazz.
